BETTER TALK ABOUT TRUST!

Trust, that is the whole duty; that is all that matters.

Trust, that is all. It is the whole duty of Man. The level of trust someone have in you to a large extent determines what he or she can tell you as in beneficial information, share with you as in opportunity, confide in you, or give to you as in benefit offer and vice versa. Genuineness, or consistent sincerity is a precursor of trust.

The opposite of trust is betrayal or better said; distrust. Have you ever been betrayed before or asked yourself what actually make us call it betrayal hmm, It is simply because it comes from someone well trusted by you. Usually a friend, relative or partner in business/workplace. Imagine!

Sophie and Jane were best friends during their final year in high School. Sophie worked so hard in her project work, spending sleepless nights in the Library in search of relevant materials that could aid and facilitate her breakthrough in her research work. She faced a lot of difficulties getting useful materials, and had to spend time alone in isolation so she could gather useful idea since she is working in a relatively new area where so little works have been done in the past. Also, she had to work independently as no supervision was allowed as at then.

Jane on the other hand is a party Girl who rocks parties all night especially during midweeks and weekends, smoking and getting drunk almost all the time she goes parting. Since she became a final year student, she became less committed to her academics. She now have so little time for studying unlike she used to believing that she could bribe her way through. She had nothing to work on and was not bordered.

Sophie eventually completed her work, with an innovative finding after a huge investment of time, energy and financial resources. She developed a Welfare Software Package (WSP) through which government can capture the database of the rural poor for effective welfare support. A time when they were to defend their works eventually approached, Jane’s departmental presentation was scheduled four fortnights prior that of Sophie so, she was caught up, and because she had nothing to present.

She was confused and afraid of losing Sophie’s trust, but at the same time, under pressure to graduate that same year so she trespassed and copied Sophie’s project because she have access to her laptop and the pass-codes.  She presented it smartly in her own junky eyes, and when Sophie got to know, it was very late. All evidence was cleared so she eventually came out looking like the liar who is trying to cook up allegations. 

Could Jane ever do this to me?, or is she trying to kid me like coming up with a surprise?, this is too had to believe she screamed in an emotional outburst. She was broken in her heart, betrayed and devastated because she and Jane have been friends since Second semester of their second year.  Sophie eventually summoned courage. She resolved to prepare a new project work in two months and few days but with a less tasking topic compared with the one she initially did which was plagiarize which took her about five-six months.

She was able to meet up with the presentation, although she was the last presenter in her department. What do you expect after all she had been through. In the end, Jane got an A and she was grateful. You said “and so what”? Ok.

Jane eventually flunked, because it was apparent that she knew so little about the work since it was done by someone else. She stole it hence, She only used idea for the presentation. She managed to graduate same year. and so?.

Sophie was able retrieve her full work but in parts after the presentations from Jane.

She debugged the software and optimized it to market standard and eventually sold the Software to the Federal government at a mind blowing price and invested the money into real estate business hereby ending up owning multiple assets in Country's capital City. She is now one of the richest Women in the Country, with her diversified portfolios.

Jane graduated although she had to sell her way in out, eventually managed to get a job in Lagos after so many years and now needed a befitting accommodation in one of the high class residential areas in Lagos. She got the house of her dream on a rent and moved in afterwards.

She had barely spent a month when Sophie, the Landlady came around on inspection. She eventually got to know that Sophie happens to be the owner of her dream rented apartment. She collapsed and ran into comma for hours. She could not handle it. She got caught up again. What a life full of desperation and regrets. The table eventually turned and the right Lady Laughed Last. Indeed, you can fool some people sometimes but not everybody all the time.

Betrayal

Hey Friend, every human are experiencing issues in one way or the other, as either of goodness or evil been expressed usually in form of undisclosed appetite or unrevealed wickedness from within that only a discerning or thoughtful heart can decode. The Heart of man is desperately wicked, who can search its intricate depth.
