The real and longest existing award scheme of its kind is the 9th edition of the pan-African (Re)Insurance Journalism Awards invites entries from across continent to be submitted in English, French or Arabic between November 14th, 2023 and February 15th, 2024.
The awards are extension of Continental Reinsurance’s continued
commitment to the advancement of excellence in the industry. They pay tribute
to an industry that has in countless cases helped individuals and businesses to
recover from injury and loss.
Since its launch in 2015 the awards have been recognising the
outstanding work of journalists on re/insurance from across the continent.
Personal details
Include your name, media organisation, the publishing/broadcasting
date, a brief profile together with details on your experience (50 – 100) and a
photo.
Selection Process
An international judging panel comprising industry experts and
academics in journalism will review and select the winner entries.
The judging panel will evaluate all submitted material according
to the quality of information and how it contributes to creating a better
understanding of the benefits insurance can deliver to individuals, communities
and societies at large.
The 2024 ICANN Fellowship Program is to strengthen the diversity of the multistakeholder model by fostering opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to be active participants in the ICANN community.
Fellows are exposed to the workings of the ICANN community, are assigned a mentor, and receives training across different areas of knowledge and skill building before, during, and after an ICANN Public Meeting. Travel assistance to attend the meeting will be provided.

Returning fellows would be considered for the Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition. The award recognizes outstanding contributions of fellows in furthering ICANN's capacity development efforts in their respective regions. Learn more here.
A selected Fellow, who lives or works in African region with technical background will be considered for Paul Muchene Fellow Award. The Paul Muchene Fellow Award is a tribute to Paul Muchene, an ICANN Fellowship Program participant and ICANN organization staff member who passed away in August 2022. To learn more here.

Participants are encouraged to actively contribute to the ICANN policy development processes and Fellowship alumni network upon completion of their Fellowship Program.
The Fellowship application rounds for ICANN80 Policy Forum* and is now open. The application round would be opened till December 16, 2023 at 23:59 UTC time.
* Only those who have successfully completed an ICANN Fellowship Program (Fellowship Program Alumni) are eligible to apply for a Policy Forum fellowship
If ICANN meeting is held virtually, the Fellowship Program will also be held virtually.
